Each office connects with its own Open Dental API keys. Paradox stores the link between a customer and a patient and nothing from the chart — no birthdates, no notes, no clinical data. Balances are read live and never kept.
The practice pastes its own Open Dental API keys under Settings → Integrations. One read-only test proves the connection and learns their payment types. (Open Dental's API plan is billed to the practice; posting payments needs their paid tier.)
